What’s Going on in the Atlanta Area for Independence Day 2020?

None of us could have predicted the whirlwind this year would bring when the clock struck midnight and launched us all into 2020. While COVID-19 restrictions seem to be lightening, there’s still an air of uncertainty surrounding upcoming Independence Day festivities. Though quarantine season has us treading lighter than usual, there are still some things you can do to (safely) celebrate the great ol’ US of A. Woodstock July 4th Fireworks 

When: Saturday, July 4, 2020 | 9:00pm – 10:00pm 

Where: Woodstock Square, 964 Alabama Rd NE, Woodstock, GA 

This Independence Day the city of Woodstock is shooting of spectacular sights behind the local Lowe’s store with North Georgia’s largest fireworks show starting at dusk.  

July 4th Spectacular kicks off at 10 a.m. with a parade in downtown Woodstock. Participants will march south from Woodstock Elementary School on Rope Mill Road, travel down Main Street, and continue to Sam’s Club near Highway 92. This event is rain or shine, unless inclement weather. With social distancing in the parking lots, your family can safely take in the spectacular sights in store.

Cumming 4th of July Celebration 

When: Saturday, July 4, 2020 | 10:00 am – 10:00 pm 

Where: Cumming Fairgrounds, 235 Castleberry Road, Cumming, GA 

Among the changes, the parade route has been extended so that spectators can maintain a six-foot distance between groups. The event will close with an excellent fireworks show starting at about 9:30 p.m., where guest will also be encouraged to follow social distancing recommendations.  Spectators are also encouraged to wear a mask or alternate face coverings. 

Kennesaw’s Salute to America  

When: Saturday, September 12, 2020 | 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm 

Where: Depot Park, 2828 Cherokee Street NW, Kennesaw, GA 

Tradition is important, but these days you can never be too careful. This year the City of Kennesaw’s annual “pre-Independence Day” celebration becomes a post-Independence Day bash that promises to be well worth the wait. With the event now scheduled for September 12, you’ll still be able to enjoy all your favorite festivities with fireworks, live music, food vendors and much more. Admission to the event is absolutely free.
