2016 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 Track Attack Program

So, you’ve purchased a 2016 Ford Mustang GT350R. Maybe you’re in heaven, and maybe you’ve purchased one heck of a car and don’t know exactly what to do with it. Fortunately, the latest rumors are that Ford will be providing a complimentary Shelby GT350 Track Attack program to allow new 2016 Shelby GT350 or GT350R owners to get a feel for the power they have just purchased.

We don’t have details yet on where to register, but the one-day driving course will be held at the Utah Motorsports Campus (previously known as the Miller Motorsports Park) and will feature instructions on the best way to handle the performance of this elite Mustang which, in addition to being named the Performance Car of the Year by Road and Track Magazine, made Car and Driver’s 10Best List.

The course will be taught by a Ford Performance Driving Instructor. Official information from Ford has been fairly light on the ground, but we’re assuming that the Shelby Track Attack program will include aspects from Ford Racing School One-Day Course, like the essentials of track driving, the best posture and seating positions, performance braking techniques, finding the ideal racing line on a track, and vehicle dynamics. Get a snapshot of what the school experience might be like from the video below.

We believe that this 2016 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 Track Attack Program is free to anyone who buys a new GT350R or GT350. Participants will need to cover the cost of their own transportation and lodging to take part in this exciting driving experience. Maybe someday there will be one for the 2017 F-150 Raptor as well!

We may not have the track-tuned GT350R here at Akins Ford, but we are getting select models of the GT350, and have a huge selection of Ford Mustangs here on our lot in Winder GA. Watch this blog for updates on all things Mustang-related as we learn them.
