2017 Ford Super Duty Fuel Tank Size
The 2017 Super Duty has been designed by Ford to be a truck ready for any challenge. One of the ways Ford has ensured that this truck can keep working longer is to limit the number of stops drivers have to make at the fuel pump. The 2017 Ford Super Duty fuel tank size has been increased for the new model year.
2017 Super Duty Fuel Tank Capacity
2017 Ford Super Duty models will now come equipped with a 48-gallon fuel tank. A fuel tank of this size is unmatched in the heavy duty pickup class and is 22 percent larger than the fuel tank that was included on the 2016 Super Duty.

Helping the fuel tank out are several weight-saving innovations Ford has made on the 2017 Super Duty. Extensive use of high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy helps lighten the truck and improve fuel economy. With the larger fuel tank and improved fuel economy, the 2017 Ford Super Duty offers an impressive driving range.
The larger fuel tank will be available on both gasoline and diesel Super Duty models with the long-box Crew Cab configuration. Gasoline models will be powered by a 6.2-liter gasoline engine that offers 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Diesel models come equipped with a new turbocharged 6.7-liter Power Stroke engine that increases the Super Duty’s horsepower rating to 440 and the torque to 925 pound-feet. The diesel engine helps the 2017 Super Duty offer best-in-class towing ratings.

I presently have a 2017 F350 Diesel and it only came with a 20 or 21 gallon tank. definitely not enough. Can ford put in a larger tank after the fact , do they offer one directly from ford or would it be an after market such as Titan tanks etc. What sizes are available and just out of curiosity why do they not all come with the larger tank. After all it is a 1 ton truck that is intended for towing , it only makes sense to put the larger tank in. please get back to me with available options.
Thank you.

I just filled my tank. It had less then an eight of a tank left. I topped if right up with 91.67 litres which works out to a little over 20 gallons. I cannot see the eight of a tank that remained being much more then 2-3 gallons. I have never been able to get more then 11o litres of diesel in my tank when none dry. Thus making it a 23 or 24 gallon tank. Not the 34 gallon tank they say if is supposed to come with. Unless they are saying 34 American gallons which means nothing to me here in Canada. I have not looked into that TSB 17- 0046 yet but I will.
I have a 2018 F-250 that I bought used that came from Canada. I to have never been able to put more than 22 gallons of gas in it. What is up with the small tank?
