Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support

Forward Collision Warning with brake support uses radar technology to scan for potential collisions with vehicles ahead. If a collision hazard is found, the system will alert you with audible and visual warnings. The system will even precharge the brakes and increase sensitivity for more efficient braking.

Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert

The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) uses radar technology to scan your vehicle’s blind spot for vehicles. When a vehicle is present, the system will alert you with an indicator light on the corresponding sideview mirror. Similarly, cross-traffic alert uses radar to detect vehicles passing behind while reversing out of a driveway or parking place from up to 15 yards away. If an approaching vehicle is detected, the system will warn you with audible and visual warnings.

Lane-Keeping System

The Escape’s driver-activated Lane-Keeping System is designed to alert you to and help correct unintentional lane drifting. Drivers can choose between three modes, which determine how the system responds:

  • Alert – Uses steering wheel vibrations to warn when you drift too close to a lane marker
  • Aid – Activates a directional steering torque to help guide you back to the center of the lane
  • Both – Activates a directional steering torque to help guide you back to the center of the lane. If you continue to drift, the system will alert you with steering wheel vibrations.
