1.5-liter EcoBoost 

Standard on the Escape SE and SEL come equipped with the 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, delivering up to 179 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque. With the engine, the Escape gains Auto Start-Stop Technology. The feature automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle comes to a stop to reduce fuel consumption during city driving.  

Matched with the 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission and standard FWD, the 1.5L EcoBoost scores and EPA-estimated 23 city / 30 highway / 26 combined mpg. Available on both models, the optional Intelligent 4WD System readjusts as needed to deliver the optimal balance of handling and traction. Adding Intelligent 4WD brings the model’s fuel efficiency to 22 city / 28 highway / 24 combined mpg.

Exclusive to the Titanium trim level, the 2.0-liter EcoBoost tops out the Escape’s engine lineup with 245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque.  

Matched with Auto Start-Stop Technology, the 6-speed SelectShift automatic and standard FWD, this engine brings an EPA-estimated 22 city / 29 highway / 25 combined mpg. The engine’s twin-scroll turbocharger makes for quick torque delivery and immediate responsiveness in situations when it’s most needed like during passing or highway merging. 

Paired with the optional Intelligent 4WD System, the 2.0L EcoBoost gives the Escape its 3,500-lb. maximum tow capacity and scores 21 city / 27 highway / 23 combined mpg.
