Differences between Ford SYNC3 and Ford SYNC

The whole concept of an infotainment system in a vehicle is fairly new, but over the past few years, this type of technology in a vehicle has become fairly common among the wide variety of vehicles available. Nearly every single vehicle in the current industry has some sort of infotainment system available, which goes to show just how important this type of technology is in your everyday life.

Ford is one of the leaders of innovative technology in the automotive industry and is always pushing for more. Ford SYNC is Ford’s infotainment system that can do everything from provide turn-by-turn navigation, make phone calls, send text messages and play music. SYNC was revamped and revised for 2016 Ford models and the newest infotainment system is called Ford SYNC3.

For the most part, the two infotainment systems are the same, but there are a few differences between Ford SYNC3 and Ford SYNC. Let’s explore, shall we?

Ford SYNC

The regular Ford SYNC system has tons of great features that are incredibly useful to the modern, everyday driver. Among those features are hands-free calling, voice recognition technology, 911-assist, music and search controls, Ford AppLink, caller ID, call waiting, navigation and climate control.

Ford SYNC3

Ford SYNC3 has all of the great features you will find in Ford SYNC, but it is riddled with a few extras. Those extras are what make the elite infotainment system more responsive to touch as well as voice command, which are two of the aspects drivers use most.

SYNC3 is a great addition to the 2016 Ford model lineup. Some of the new features included in Ford SYNC3 include an LCD screen with touch and pinch-to-zoom technology, easier and more enhanced voice recognition, seamless SIRI integration and automatic updates over WiFi.
