Because the Ford Mustang is such a great investment and it is one that drivers take pride in, you want to keep it as nice and clean as possible for as long as possible.

One of the biggest things that makes a vehicle look dirty is clutter and debris. Many of the Mustang models aren’t particularly spacious, especially in the back, which means it is even more noticeable if your vehicle is dirty. To keep your vehicle fresh and clean, keep the seats in good condition, especially if they are leather.

Over the years, we’ve learned a few Ford Mustang leather seat cleaning tips and we wanted to share them with you because something as simple as cleaning leather seats can make a world of difference in terms of the value of your car as well as the comfort level.

Tips to clean leather seats

The first thing to consider when you are preparing to clean the leather seats in your Ford Mustang is whether or not there are any perforated areas. (Perforated means they have little holes in the material). If so, you will need to take extra care and your process may vary slightly as you do not want to get any water, oil, cleaning product, etc. in the holes.

The second step, first step to cleaning, is to vacuum up any debris and dirt. Make sure to use caution as you do not want to scratch the leather. You could also use an air compressor or a keyboard cleaning tube of air to blow dirt from the cracks.

After everything is vacuumed, you will want to remove surface dirt by using a microfiber towel or other soft towel. You can make your own leather cleaning solution or you can buy one.

Next, use a soft-bristled brush to gently, GENTLY scrub the leather as more dirt will come to the surface. Finally wipe the seats dry and you are good to go!

Enjoy your nice, clean Ford Mustang!
