Several new features have been added to the 2017 Escape. The crossover will now offer an active park-assist system that is able to automatically steer the vehicle when parallel parking. The Sync Connect system will also be available on the new Escape. Sync Connect allows owners to use FordPass to locate, unlock, lock and start their vehicle through a connected smartphone. Several new safety features have also been added, including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and a forward collision warning system with automatic braking.

To improve cabin noise levels, the new Escape offers several noise-reduction technologies, including laminated glass, insulated wheel-arch liners, added door insulation and an acoustic windshield. All of these technologies work together to make this the quietest Escape ever.

Previous Ford Escape models have set a significant standard. The success of the crossover has led to the Escape earning the place of the second-highest selling Ford vehicle, behind only the F-150.
