2017 Ford Fusion vs 2017 Toyota Camry
The midsize sedan has long been the staple family car. This class is still going on strong, driven forward by several great new models currently hitting the market. The 2017 Ford Fusion vs the 2017 Toyota Camry look at two of the newest entries in this segment.
This comparison starts out on very equal footing. Both sedans offer 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines on their base trim levels. The two engines each deliver similar power and fuel economy ratings. After this first engine, the similarities between the power sources of the two cars end. Four total engine options are offered on the 2017 Focus, while the Camry only offers two.
To maximize fuel economy, the Fusion can be equipped with a turbocharged EcoBoost 1.5-liter four-cylinder that earns an estimated 25 miles per gallon in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. The best fuel economy ratings on the Camry come from the base four-cylinder engine. Both cars offer six-cylinder engines that maximize horsepower and performance. On the 2017 Camry, this is done via a 3.5-liter V6 that offers 268 horsepower. The Fusion is able to outperform this number with its available 2.7-liter V6. This engine is exclusive to the Fusion V6 Sport trim and produces 325 horsepower.
