It’s our favorite day of the year here at Akins Ford near Atlanta, GA – it’s the day the new Ford Mustang lineup finally arrives on our lot for the start of the new model year. This year’s celebration was bigger than ever before, however, which makes sense since the 2019 Ford Mustang lineup is the biggest and best yet.

Don’t worry, we don’t mean the new 2019 Mustang models have increased in size – we just mean the lineup has increased the number of available trim levels. More specifically, the 2019 Ford Mustang lineup has welcomed two all-new trim levels for the new model year in the form of the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt and the 2019 Ford Mustang California Special. Those two new trim levels join a slew of other all-new features and capabilities for the lineup, including an all-new custom-tuned 1,000-watt B&O PLAY by HARMAN high-performance sound system, in-vehicle Wi-Fi capabilities, and a trio of all-new exterior color options – Velocity Blue, Need for Green, and Dark Highland Green (this one is only available with the 2019 Mustang Bullitt).

How Powerful, Capable and Fuel Efficient are the Pair of Engine Options Available for the New 2019 Ford Mustang Lineup at Akins Ford near Atlanta GA?

In years past, the list of engines available for any given new Ford Mustang lineup was a long one. Ford has been doing away with many of those extra engines lately, in an effort to give its customers more bang for their buck. That’s especially true for the 2019 Mustang lineup and its pair of engine options – both of which are powerful, capable, fuel efficient, and a whole lot of fun to drive.

The standard engine for all 2019 Ford Mustang EcoBoost models is a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine capable of pumping out up to 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. When paired with the standard 6-speed manual transmission, this engine can get up to 21 city MPG and 31 highway MPG. When paired with the available 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, this engine can get up to 21 city MPG and 32 highway MPG.

The standard engine for all 2019 Ford Mustang GT models is a 5.0-liter V8 Ti-VCT engine capable of pumping out up to 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. When paired with the standard 6-speed manual transmission, this engine can get up to 15 city MPG and 25 highway MPG. When paired with the available 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, this engine can get up to 16 city MPG and 25 highway MPG.
