Towing Capacities of the 2020 Ford Edge

When you choose the 2020 Ford Edge in its most basic form with no add-ons or upgrades, you’ll enjoy a standard towing capacity of up to 1,500 lbs. The Ford Escape SE, SEL and Titanium models come equipped with the Twin-Scroll 2.0L EcoBoost® engine that provides a maximum towing capacity of up to 3,500 lbs. when properly equipped. That figure is for AWD models equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package. The Ford Edge ST is equipped with a more powerful 2.7L Twin-turbocharged EcoBoost® V6 engine and standard AWD, but the maximum towing capacity still tops out at 3,500 lbs. with the Class II Trailer Tow Package.

The Class II Trailer Tow Package includes specialized features like Trailer Sway Control, which determines whether the trailer is swaying and applies precise braking corrections to keep your SUV and trailer under control. Other available features that support the towing on the 2020 Ford Edge include AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control and Curve Control, Traction Control, Torque Vectoring Control, the Lane-Keeping System and available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
