What Tire PSI is Recommended on the Ford F-150?

Finding the Recommended Tire Pressure for Your Ford F-150

It may seem arbitrary but keeping your F-150’s tire pressure at the recommended psi is an easy way of extending the life of your tires and enhancing your truck’s performance and fuel economy. And if you’re looking to double check that you’re using the right psi recommendations for your Ford F-150 truck, here’s where you’ll find it.

For most Ford F-150 trucks, Ford recommends all four tires be set to a tire pressure of 35 psi for the best balance of comfort, traction, fuel economy, and load-bearing capabilitiesIncreasing the inflation pressure beyond this pressure will not increase the tire’s load carrying capability.

There is an exception to this rule, and that is for models designed to handle heavier payloads. The LT275/65R18C OWL all-terrain tires included in the Heavy-Duty Payload Package are designed to carry a heavier maximum load at a recommended tire pressure of 42 psi.

Ford Owner Pro Tip: The recommended tire pressure for your vehicle should be listed on a sticker located on the driver’s side door jamb. Aftermarket tires will have different recommended pressures. Do not use the “max pressure” figure located on the side wall of your tire.
