New 2017 Ford F-150 Engine Performance<\/h2>\n

Truck fans eagerly anticipating the arrival of the 2017 Ford F-150 are about to get a little more impatient. Ford has just announced the details on an all-new EcoBoost engine and 10-speed transmission that will be available on the new truck. The new 2017 Ford F-150 engine performance will set it apart from competing trucks on the market.<\/p>\n

2017 EcoBoost Engine Horsepower<\/h3>\n

The new 2017 engine will be a 3.5-liter, twin-turbo, EcoBoost V6. Ford is expecting the new engine to increase torque by 30 pound-feet over the first generation of 3.5-liter EcoBoost engines. This would ensure that the engine offers best-in-class torque for a gasoline V6.<\/p>\n

Few features on the engine include Ford\u2019s first dual-direct and port fuel-injection system. The system utilizes two injectors per cylinder to maximize power and efficiency while reducing emissions. Ford has refined its turbochargers, improving boost. Hollow camshafts and an new roller-finger follower valvetrain help to lighten the engine<\/a> by four pounds.<\/p>\n

In order to maximize fuel economy, the new engine will be equipped with a standard Auto Start-Stop feature. This feature will shut down the engine when the vehicle comes to a stop and start it back up when the truck beings to move.<\/p>\n

2017 Ford F-150 10-Speed Transmission<\/h3>\n

Every new 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine will work with an all-new 10-speed transmission. No transmission is better able to handle the performance of this new engine. The optimized wide-span gear spacing and drag-reduction actions, three overdrive gears and a wider ratio span all work together to give drivers the most control over their truck.<\/p>\n

Ford American Production Plants<\/h3>\n

The new engine and transmission will be made right here in the United States<\/a>. Ford recently announced that the company will be investing $145 million into upgrading its Cleveland Engine Plant to produce the new engine. The 10-speed transmission will be constructed at Ford\u2019s Livonia Transmission Plant, which recently received a $1.4 billion investment.<\/p>\n
