Ford is unveiling the 2022 Ford GT ’64 Prototype Heritage Edition as a homage to the Ford GT supercar, the prototype vehicle that launched over half a century ago. The limited-edition car is based on the Ford GT prototype, that made its world premiere on April 3, 1964, at the New York International Auto Show and went on to become America’s sole Le Mans-winning supercar. There’s an over-the-roof triple racing stripe on the Ford GT ’64 Prototype Heritage Edition supercar, that is painted Wimbledon White with Antimatter Blue accents. Exposed carbon fiber parts are prominent, including 20-inch Antimatter Blue painted carbon fiber wheels, a Ford GT-only touch, as well as an exposed front splitter, side sills, mirror stalks, engine louvres, and a gloss-finished rear diffuser. Brake calipers in silver with black graphics from Brembo\u00ae, as well as black lug nuts, add a contemporary touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carbon fiber theme continues into the interior, with matte carbon fiber registers and carbon fiber door sills, lower A-pillars, and consoles. The seats are available in Lightspeed Blue Alcantara\u00ae with silver stitching. The surfaces are carbon fiber surfaces and the headrests have the GT logo stamp. Ebony Alcantara covers the pillars and headliner, while Lightspeed Blue Alcantara covers the instrument panel and headliner. The special wheels are complemented with Antimatter Blue appliqu\u00e9s on the instrument panel, door register bezels, and the seat X-brace. The Ebony Alcantara steering wheel features black stitching and dual-clutch paddle shifters finished in crystal clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
