The newest member of the Ford Bronco brand of Built Wild\u2122 SUVs, Bronco Raptor launches today as the world\u2019s first Ultra4 Racing-inspired SUV and the most powerful street-legal Bronco ever. The Bronco Raptor comes with cutting-edge off-road technology and hardware. Ultra4 Racing is the pinnacle of off-road competition, with events like the King of the Hammers in California\u2019s Johnson Valley, where the Bronco Raptor will be live on February 3. Ford Performance Brings Built Wild Capability And Durability   <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The solid rear axle has been replaced with a semi-float Dana 50\u2122<\/sup> Heavy-Duty AdvanTEK\u00ae with a 235-millimeter ring gear. The Dana 44\u2122 AdvanTEK front-drive unit is improving with a 210-millimeter ring gear. These upgraded axles boost the track width by 8.6 inches (73.6 inches against 65.0 inches) over a standard Bronco. The larger front and rear driveshafts help support the increased wheel torque. The Bronco Raptor also has a 13.1-inch minimum ground clearance, which is 4.8 inches higher than the original four-door vehicle.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A higher-capacity clutch intended to handle the demands of high-performance desert events is part of an innovative 4×4 system with three modes. The modified transfer case also has a 3.06 4×4 LO ratio for a crawl ratio of 67.7:1.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ford High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension System <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Ford Performance team worked with FOX\u2122 to include Live Valve technology into the High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (HOSS)<\/a> system. The Raptor HOSS 4.0 system uses FOX 3.1 Internal Bypass Semi-Active Dampers (3.1-inch diameter). These are specially designed to have integrated-reservoirs up front and remote reservoirs in the back. The design is like that of the F-150 Raptor truck\u2019s position-sensitive damping design. Each corner\u2019s suspension height sensors and other sensors independently evaluate terrain conditions hundreds of times per second and alter suspension tune accordingly.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
