The 2017 Ford Fusion earned the highest possible score of \u201cGood\u201d in all five IIHS crash tests<\/a>. Ford modified the front end of the new Fusion to help the car excel in the difficult small overlap front test that has stumped many vehicles in the past.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to these scores, the addition of an active braking system enabled the Fusion\u2019s front crash prevention rating to improve from \u201cBasic\u201d to \u201cSuperior.\u201d This system is included as part of the available forward collision warning system.
