The new technology driving the 10-speed transmission is revolutionary. Several weight-saving developments help maximize the transmission\u2019s performance. This is the first time Ford has not used cast-iron components during the construction of the 10-speed. New materials and alloys held reduce weight, and an integrated converter\/torque clutch saves two pounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ford has equipped the 10-speed automatic transmission with several new technology features that optimize performance.
