What’s Under the hood of the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R\u2122? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new F-150 Raptor R\u2122<\/a> has been designed and engineered by Ford Performance. Like all three previous generations of the Raptor, the Raptor R\u2122 is inspired by the extreme off-road desert-racing trophy trucks that compete in the Baja 1000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the hood of the F-150 Raptor R\u2122 is a new 5.2-liter supercharged V8 mated with a 10-speed SelectShift\u00ae transmission and cranks out 700 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque to give its owners the most extreme off-roading experience.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R\u00ae Performance Highlights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ford Performance took the most powerful engine in its engine lineup (the 5.2-liter V8 is the same engine that powers the Mustang Shelby GT500\u00ae<\/a>) and optimized it for Raptor-level off-road performance and Built Ford Tough\u00ae durability. The result is the most torque-dense supercharged V8 engine ever in a production pickup truck.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To get the maximum performance out of the V8, Ford Performance recalibrated the V8’s supercharger and installed a new pulley to optimize its power for off-road use. This helped increase torque delivery at the low-end and in the mid-range.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The F-150 Raptor is as much about off-road ability as it is about speed and performance, so to maintain the extreme off-road durability the Raptor brand is known for, Ford Performance upgraded the engine’s exhaust manifolds to cast stainless steel and made modifications to the oil cooler and filter to keep the oil cool under extreme conditions.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Raptor R\u2122 features a capable suspension system featuring a five-link rear suspension with extra-long trailing arms to maintain axle position on rough terrain. It also features advanced FOX Live Valve shocks tuned to balance ride quality and control body roll on and off the road. These electronically-controlled dampers use suspension height sensors to monitor terrain conditions and adjust suspension tuning accordingly.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ford F-150 Raptor R\u2122 also sports standard 37-inch wheels and best-in-class ground clearance with a wheel travel of 13 inches in front and 14.1 inches in back to traverse sand and rocks with outstanding capability.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
