Three total engines are offered on the 2017 Ford Explorer. Standard equipment on base trim levels includes a 3.5-liter V-6 engine. This engine delivers 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy estimates on the turbocharged V-6 are rated at an estimated 16 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
