2017 Escape vs 2017 Explorer: Powertrain and Gas Mileage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Both the 2017 Ford Escape<\/a> and the 2017 Ford Explorer<\/a> are pretty evenly matched in terms of powertrain and gas mileage, though the 2017 Explorer is more powerful while the 2017 Escape is more fuel efficient. The new Explorer comes with a base 3.5-liter V6 engine capable of pumping out 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque, all while getting 17 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway. The new Escape features a base 2.5-liter Inline-4 engine capable of providing 168 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque while getting 21 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2017 Escape vs 2017 Explorer: Passenger and Cargo Space<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Now, let\u2019s turn our attention to the interior of the two models. Both come with a comprehensive suite of advanced new Ford safety, technology, comfort and convenience features. The new Ford Escape<\/a> offers 34 cubic feet of cargo capacity when all its seats are in place, 68 cubic feet of maximum cargo capacity and 132.7 cubic feet of interior volume for you and your passengers. The new Ford Explorer<\/a> offers 21 cubic feet of cargo capacity when all its seats are in place, 81.7 cubic feet of maximum cargo capacity and 171.3 cubic feet of interior volume for you and your passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
