Powertrain and Engine Comparison: 2017 Ford F-150 vs 2018 Ford F-150<\/h3>\n

Overall, the new Ford F-150<\/a> will feature a number of key updates, upgrades and enhancements over the previous model year. But we\u2019re going to focus here on what excites us the most, and that\u2019s the addition of powerful and efficient new engine options such as the all-new 2018 Ford F-150 Diesel model<\/a>. When it\u2019s all said and done, the 2018 Ford F-150<\/a> will offer the choice between five engines. Up first is the standard 3.3-liter V6 direct-injection engine, which provides 282 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. The rest of the 2018 F-150 engine lineup features an all-new second-generation 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, an upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine and an all-new 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel engine. While we know the power numbers for the standard engine, we don\u2019t yet have power and fuel efficiency ratings for the rest of the new F-150 engine lineup.<\/p>\n

This new five engine offering is a step up from the 2017 Ford F-150<\/a>, which offered four engines to choose from, including the standard 3.5-liter V6 engine that provides 282 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque and gets 18 city MPG and 24 highway MPG. The rest of the 2017 F-150 engine lineup features the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine (325 horsepower, 375 lb-ft. torque, 19 city MPG, 26 highway MPG), the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine (375 horsepower, 470 lb-ft. torque, 18 city MPG, 25 highway MPG) and the 5.0-liter V8 engine (385 horsepower, 387 lb-ft. torque, 15 city MPG, 22 highway MPG).<\/p>\n
