The VIN number may be found on the driver-side doorframe, on your vehicle documentation or visible through the windshield on your driver-side dashboard.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li><li>Assign a vehicle nickname.<\/li><li>Once your VIN is confirmed, tap \u201cFinish\u201d, then \u201cActivate SYNC Connect\u201d.<\/li><li>Wait a few minutes, then start your vehicle.<\/li><li>A request to connect the vehicle with your Ford Owner account should display on the touchscreen. Select \u201cAllow\u201d.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3>Part 2: Set Up Your Data Plan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Open the FordPass app.<\/li><li>Your vehicle should now be displayed on the app. Select \u201cVehicle Details\u201d under your vehicle\u2019s image.<\/li><li>Select \u201cVehicle Hotspot\u201d.<\/li><li>Select the \u201cSet Up Data Plan\u201d button. You should be directed to the AT&amp;T connected car page.\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>NOTE: If you have purchased a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.akinsford.com\/inventory?_gmod%5B0%5D=Dfe_Modules_VehiclePrice_Module&amp;_gmod%5B1%5D=Dfe_Modules_CustomizePayment_Module&amp;direction=asc&amp;q=Hotspot&amp;year[]=2019&amp;year[]=2018&amp;sf=sf_year,sf_location\">new 2018 or newer hotspot-equipped vehicle<\/a>, you may qualify for a complimentary 3 month\/3GB wireless data trial.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li><li>Follow the steps provided by AT&amp;T to activate your free trial or to sign up for a wireless data plan.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3>Part 3: Connect&nbsp;Your Devices<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>From your SYNC 3 touchscreen, navigate to \u201cSettings\u201d, then select \u201cWi-Fi &amp; Hotspot\u201d, then \u201cVehicle Hotspot\u201d. Verify that Wi-Fi Hotspot is turned \u201cOn\u201d.<\/li><li>Go back to \u201cSettings\u201d, then select \u201cView Password\u201d.
