Passenger Space<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Explorer accommodates up to 7 passengers with a 3-passenger bench seat in the 2nd row and a 2-passenger bench seat in the 3rd row. The available 2nd-row bucket seats provide added comfort with the sacrifice of the middle seat. This 6-passenger layout is available on the Explorer XLT, Limited, Sport, and Platinum trim levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cargo Space<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Explorer holds its place among the more spacious vehicles in its class.  21.0 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. This cargo area expands to 43.9 cubic feet with those rear seats folded and maxes out at 80.7 cubic feet with the 2nd -row seats folded as well.  The available PowerFold\u00ae third-row seat folds flat, giving a seamless and level cargo space at the touch of a button. Also available is the hands-free power liftgate. With your Intelligent Access key fob tucked away in your pocket, a gentle kick the foot under the rear bumper is all you need to access your cargo space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interior Trim and Features<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As the very first trim level in the lineup, the Explorer Base serves as a bare-bones model. The Base gets cloth-trimmed seats with a 60\/40 split 2nd-row bench and 50\/50 split 3rd-row bench. As you continue to move up the lineup, the Explorer continues to garnish its cabin with more luxury features.
