Every year, dozens of the top trucks and SUVs from around North America gather to be evaluated at the Texas Truck Rodeo organized by the Texas Auto Writers Association. Awards offered at the prestigious event mean that a truck or SUV has gone up against the toughest competition and walked away victorious. This year the FCA US brand (which included the Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles available here at Akins), raked in the awards, securing eight of 24 honors and beating out other manufactures in sheer number of excellent vehicles that went home with new titles. Best Trucks of Texas<\/h3>\n

Reclaiming the title of Full-size Pickup Truck of Texas from the Ford F-150’s win in 2014, the 2016 Ram 1500<\/a> is back and better than ever. The 2016 Ram 2500 also took the top award for Heavy Duty Pickup Truck of Texas.<\/p>\n

Jeep SUV Awards from the Texas Auto Writers Association<\/h3>\n

The 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee<\/a> was honored as the Mid-size SUV of Texas, while its elite Summit trim also took the Mid-size Luxury SUV category. The 2016 Jeep Cherokee<\/a> won for Compact SUV of Texas, while 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited won for best Off-Road Utility Vehicle, and the 2015 Jeep Renegade won for top Compact Crossover Utility Vehicle.<\/p>\n
