2020 Ford Escape Drive Modes <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The new Selectable Drive Mode system on the all-new 2020 Ford Escape is designed to help improve your driving experience over a variety of road conditions. Just choose a drive mode and the Escape will alter traction control, steering and pedal response and available Intelligent AWD to optimize drive performance for the current conditions. The four standard modes of the 2020 Ford Escape are Eco, Sport, Normal and Slippery. A Deep Snow\/Sand mode is also provided on models equipped with Intelligent AWD. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 3D animations on the available 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster which change based on the drive mode selected.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Normal<\/strong> – Provides a balance of excitement and comfort perfect for everyday driving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eco <\/strong>– Optimizes performance in fuel efficiency and increases overall driving range. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sport <\/strong>– Gives an athletic drive with increased throttle response and sportier steering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slippery <\/strong>– Helps improve control over low-traction surfaces covered with ice, water, grass or gravel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Snow\/Sand<\/strong> – Adjusts the transmission shift schedule, pedal response, traction control and driveline configuration for better handling over deep snow or soft sand. (Available with Intelligent AWD only) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Drive Modes <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Escape Hybrid<\/a> models trade the standard drive modes for four hybrid-specific drive modes: Auto EV, EV Now, EV Later and EV Charge. These options let you decide when to use or save up your electric power.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auto EV<\/strong> – Automatically determines whether to run on gas or electric power. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

EV Now<\/strong> –  Draws the majority of power from the electric motor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

EV Later <\/strong>– Has the gas engine do the work, saving plug-in energy for later use. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

EV Charge<\/strong> – Charges the battery while driving and makes electric-only miles to use later.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
