This isn’t the first time the 2016 Ford Mustang has been honored even recently. We had a recent post about the GT350R being named\u00a0as the 2016 Performance Car of the Year<\/a> by Road and Track magazine. And looking at the stellar performance capability of this lean mean driving machine, it’s not surprise. Previous incarnations of the Ford Mustang have been honored on this list nine times in the past.<\/p>\n What makes the 2016 Shelby GT350 and GT350R so awesome? They are two of the hottest street-legal cars to also carry breathless track performance. The Ford Shelby GT350 also features a 5.2-liter V8 engine which is the most powerful naturally aspirated Ford production engine ever. With a whooping 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque from a high-revving flat-plane crankshaft, this engine (and, by extension, this smokin’ hot pony car) can handle anything on the road.
