2019 Ford Escape vs 2018 Ford Escape
Despite its impending redesign for the 2020 model year, the 2019 Escape ends its third generation with a bang with a long list of updates that keep the model fresh and family friendly. Check out all the updates the 2019 Ford Escape has in store when we pit it against the 2018 model in this comparison.
As we roll through 2019, Ford has taken this model year as an opportunity to remove some no-longer-necessary features. If you happen to be one of the few still lugging around one of those old-school CD binders, we have bad news. The automaker has cleaned up the Escape’s multimedia system by removing the CD player from the 2019 model. We also no longer see paddle shifters or LED taillights in the newest Escape. As these features leave the lineup, we see a slew of new and exciting changes enter the mix for 2019.

What’s New in the 2019 Ford Escape?
In its transition to the 2019 model year, the SE trim level stays connected with a more advanced tech package that adds SYNC 3 and 4G Wi-Fi as standard.
Both the SE and SEL trim levels see some major upgrades in terms of convenience features. The pair gain one-touch up/down power windows, remote start and Intelligent Access with push-button start as standard features.
The SEL’s seats also get a makeover, now sporting an ActiveX seating material that’s easier to maintain and resistant to most stains.
The Escape’s exterior color palette also gets tidied up a bit for the new model year. Ford has done away with the White Gold, Cinnamon Glaze, Blue and Shadow Black options. Taking their place, three new exterior color options enter the palette for the 2019 model: Agate Black, Baltic Sea Green and Sedona Orange.
