We’re going to kick off our 2019 Ford Flex lineup versus 2018 Chevrolet Traverse lineup comparison by looking at the same thing most people start off with when beginning to research a new vehicle – the price tag. While the starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the two model lineups is somewhat similar, the 2019 Flex lineup does have a starting price $300 lower than the starting price of the 2018 Traverse lineup.
The 2019 Ford Flex lineup also offers more maximum power than the 2018 Chevy Traverse lineup. More specifically, the 2019 Flex lineup can pump out up to 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, while the 2018 Traverse lineup can pump out up to only 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque.
As shown in the table above, the 2018 Traverse lineup provides slightly more passenger space than the 2019 Flex lineup. We put that in our comparison table because even though the 2018 Traverse lineup provides a bit more passenger space, it’s not enough to really make a difference, and the 2019 Flex lineup uses its slightly smaller stature to be more fuel efficient and more maneuverable.
Last but not least, we come to standard safety features. The 2018 Traverse features a few standard safety and driver assistance systems, but what it offers pales in comparison to what comes standard with the 2019 Flex and its Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of safety and driver assistance features.
