Key Differences Between the 2020 Ford EcoSport and 2020 Nissan Kicks Subcompact SUVs

Most 2020 Ford EcoSport models will feature a 123-horsepower, 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine. The sportier EcoSport SES comes standard with a 166-horsepower, 2.0-liter inline engine and Intelligent 4WD. The EcoSport remains one of the best-handling with its exceptional suspension and steering. The SES model also gets a special sport-tuned suspension that’s stiffer than the basic setup.

The 2020 Nissan Kicks is a nimble pick, but the drive isn’t quite as exhilarating. All versions of the 2020 Kicks get a less potent 122-horsepower, 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine. It doesn’t take much power to keep this lightweight SUV moving, but you can expect lackluster acceleration with a packed cabin and luggage in the back. The 2020 Nissan Kicks does not offer four-wheel drive.

The 2020 Ford EcoSport comes in four different trim levels – S, SE, Titanium and SES. Even in its most basic form, the EcoSport features an in-floor cargo compartment, Bluetooth, a six-speaker sound system and much more. Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system is a delight in itself with its responsive 8-inch touchscreen and intuitive controls. The upscale EcoSport Titanium has an 8-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, heated front seats, a B&O premium audio system, on-screen navigation, rain-sensing wipers, heated leather seating and a power moonroof.
