What Are the Main Differences Between the All-New 2020 Ford Escape and 2020 Nissan Rogue
From the base level, the 2020 Ford Escape hits the ground running with a potent 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine good for 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. On the 2020 Nissan Rogue, the standard 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine cuts just below that at 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. That is the only engine currently offered on the Rogue SUV.
Available on Escape SEL and Titanium trims, the 2.0-liter EcoBoost offers a lively drive, doling out 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. And if you’re pining for a hybrid SUV, check out the Ford Escape hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. The Rogue Hybrid has been dropped for 2020.
If there’s one thing the Ford Escape and the Nissan Rogue share, it’s a knack for driver-assistance systems. Right off the bat, the two crossovers get standard automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist and automatic high beams. But only the 2020 Ford Escape offers available parking assist, lane-centering and evasive-steering assist.
