2021 Ford Bronco Sport vs 2020 Ford Escape
When Ford dropped the redesigned 2020 Ford Escape, the market gained what we could confidently call the ultimate adventuring compact SUV – or so we thought. This year the Ford Bronco returns from a decades-long hiatus and brings along with it a new compact off-roader named the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. So where exactly does the so-called Baby Bronco fit into the lineup? In short, the Ford Bronco Sport is the SUV you get when you want a Bronco but an Escape makes more sense. We know that merits more discussion, so keep reading to learn more.

Who Should Buy the New Bronco Sport?
The 2021 Bronco Sport doesn’t quite have all the insane rock-crawling systems of the bigger Bronco, but it’s perfectly equipped to take you deep into the wild or out to the beach. It features five standard drive modes for Sand, Slippery, Sport, Eco, and Normal conditions, plus optional Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl modes on the Badlands model. In exchange for dropping the extras, you get a more everyday-friendly setup with better fuel economy numbers, and Ford Co-Pilot™ 360 driver assists.
The Ford Escape has its own off-road chops, but it’s softer than the Bronco Sport. It has an optional 4x4 system, plus enough clearance for driving in gravel, snow, mud, and grass so long as you exercise caution in your endeavors. The Escape gets four standard drive modes – Eco, Sport, Normal, and Slippery – and an available Deep Snow/Sand mode for models with Intelligent AWD. Both the Escape and the Bronco Sport have standard Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Information System, Lane-Keeping System, and Auto High Beam Headlamps.
