The first-ever Ford Bronco Sport is on the way – and as far as the Jeep stable goes, the Jeep Compass is the closest you’ll come in size and stature. And considering the Compass is often called the mini-Grand Cherokee, we couldn’t think of a more fitting rival to take the vehicle that's been affectionately dubbed the baby Bronco by Ford fanatics.

2021 Ford Bronco Sport Advantages & Highlights

The comparison table shows that the new Bronco Sport offers more torque, a superior breakover angle and more cargo space than the Jeep Compass SUV. Regardless of model or configuration, all versions of the 2021 Bronco Sport come standard with all-wheel drive. Opting for the Badlands or First Edition will add on a twin-clutch, torque-vectoring rear axle with a locking differential, allowing it to send all the rear axle torque to either wheel independent from the other. The Jeep Compass doesn’t offer this kind of differential locking technology.

And here’s another bonus – the Bronco Sport is absolutely loaded with off-road technology. The SUV features systems like Trail Control, a front off-road camera and a number of different terrain-specialized drive modes to tackle just about any type of off-road application.

Our verdict? The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is the superior small SUV for conquering the off-road.
