Base trim levels come equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 282 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy estimates on the base V-6 engine check in at 18 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highways.

Next up is a 2.7-liter EcoBoost 2.7-liter V-6 engine. This power source increases the F-150’s horsepower to 325 and the torque to 375 pound-feet while also offering the best fuel economy numbers available on the truck. The EcoBoost engine earns an estimated 19 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highways.

The third engine offered is Ford’s second-generation EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6. Power ratings on the engine check in at 375 horsepower and 470 pound feet of toque. Fuel economy estimates are rated at 18 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highways.

The second-to-last available engine is Ford’s 5.0-liter V-8. The largest engine in the F-150 lineup, the V-8 produces 385 horsepower and 387 pound-feet of torque, while earning and estimated 15 city/22 highway miles per gallon.

Second-Generation EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6 Engine

The 2017 model year will mark the debut of Ford’s all-new third-generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine. On the new F-150, this engine will deliver 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. These ratings are both best-in-class numbers for a V-6 engine.
