Downtown Spooktacular Festival
If you’re a traditionalist you can’t go wrong with Winder’s Downtown Spookacular Festival at Jug Tavern Park on Saturday, October 31. Featuring food booths, live music, costume contests, and craft sales, this event is always a lot of fun. It’s kid-friendly too, with activities designed just for kids.

Halloween Bike Ride
For the physically fit biking enthusiast, there is no better way to celebrate the end of October than the Halloween Bike Ride organized by the Southern Bicycle League. This 34 or 62-mile ride will start at the YMCA in Winder at 8:00am and take you as far as lovely Athens, the Terrapin Brewery, and many other places full of gorgeous Georgia scenery. Cost is $45 for Southern Bicycle League members and $55 for non-members.
Netherworld Haunted House
Of course if you are willing to drive farther afield to get a real scare, the Netherworld Haunted House in Norcross, GA will be open for the entire month of October, with unique high-quality monsters and 100% terror with every admission. Prices vary from the weekend sale price of $22 per person for one attraction to the $50 SpeedPass that offer front-of-the-line access on specific nights. It will be open 7:00pm-midnight on Halloween weekend.
Zombie Run Atlanta
Would you like to spend your Halloween running for your life (and then celebrating your survival or death afterward?). Well, we have just the event for you! The 5K Zombie Run and Festival in Atlanta will be Saturday 7:30-10:00pm, with check in and an expo ahead of time. Whether you participate as a zombie or a runner, you’re sure to have a ghastly good time. More information available here.
