Guide to Using Your Ford Adaptive Headlamps

How to Turn Your Ford Adaptive Headlights On and Off

New to the Ford lineup for 2020, Adaptive Headlamps can be found on several new vehicles on the Akins Ford lot. This new feature provides better visability during nighttime driving by pivoting your headlights to illuminate past curves in the road. You can learn how this feature works and how to turn your Ford Adaptive Headlamps on and off by following our guide.

How Do Adaptive Headlamps Work?

Designed to activate at speeds above 3 mph, Adaptive Headlamps tracks the bends in the road using your steering wheel input, then pivots your headlights accordingly to better illuminate the road ahead. If the road you’re traveling on has lane markings, the inside beam will extend its reach for a better view into the adjacent lane.

How to Enable Adaptive Headlamps

STEP 1: With the vehicle in park, select SETTINGS on the touchscreen.

STEP 2: Select VEHICLE, then LIGHTING.

STEP 3: Slide the ADAPTIVE HEADLAMPS button on.
