New Outrageous Green Metallic Exterior Color for the 2018 Ford Focus Electric

As we mentioned, the 2018 Ford Focus Electric’s new exterior color option has been dubbed Outrageous Green Metallic. Not only is the new color a delightful play on words thanks to the new Ford Focus Electric being such an impressive “green car,” but it also takes its inspiration from nature and from previous Ford color options such as Highland Green, Squeeze Green, Ultimate Green and Gotta Have It Green.

“Designers are encouraged to experience a feeling, bring it to the team, then collectively brainstorm ways to bring it to life through a paint color or material for Ford vehicles. Outrageous Green Metallic is a unique shade, symbolizing modern renewal and a reconnection with nature, then finished with a special tinted clear coat to give the color depth and vibrancy.” – Barb Whalen, Ford Color and Materials Design Manager.

The 2017 model year was a banner year for the Ford Focus Electric. That’s because the 2017 Focus Electric’s driving range was increased from 76 miles to 115 miles, leading to an EPA-estimated rating of 118 city MPGe and 96 highway MPGe. Numbers aren’t out yet for the 2018 Ford Focus Electric, but Ford has promised an equally significant jump in efficiency, meaning you’re going to save even more at the pump.
