How Much Cargo Space Does the 2021 Ford Expedition Lineup Have?

Exploring the Cargo Space in the 2021 Ford Expedition, MAX, and SXT

This year, buyers interested in a new Ford Tough full-size SUV can find three different levels of cargo-carrying potential between the Expedition, Expedition MAX, and the new Expedition SXT. In this guide, we take a look at how much cargo space our guests can expect when they explore our 2021 Ford Expedition lineup here at Akins Ford.

2021 Ford Expedition

Up to 104.6 cubic feet

The 2021 Expedition offers abundant amounts of cargo space, reaching a maximum cargo volume of 104.6 cubic feet with all the rear seats folded down. That’s more than the Nissan Armada, Kia Telluride, Toyota Land Cruiser, Chevy Traverse, Subaru Ascent, Hyundai Palisade, and the GMC Acadia.

  • Cargo volume behind 3rd row – 19.3 cubic feet
    • (with 3rd-row seat fully upright) — 20.9 cubic feet
  • Cargo volume behind 2nd row – 57.5 cubic feet
    • (with 2nd-row seat slid forward) – 63.6 cubic feet
  • Cargo volume behind 1st row – 104.6 cubic feet

2021 Ford Expedition STX

Up to 104.6 cubic feet

The new 2021 Ford Expedition STX is a five-passenger version of the classic Expedition. It’s designed for buyers who want the incredible cargo-carrying abilities of a Ford-built full-size SUV but don’t need to seat a whole crew. Owners don’t have to worry about folding the third-row seats because there are none! What you get instead is more than 57 cubes of flat, unobstructed space for all your belongings.

  • Cargo volume behind 2nd row – 57.5 cubic feet
    • (with 2nd-row seat slid forward) – 63.6 cubic feet
  • Cargo volume behind 1st row – 104.6 cubic feet

(That adds to almost double what you got in the regular Expedition.) This is the ideal choice for families with larger-than-life cargo carrying needs.

  • Cargo volume behind 3rd row – 34.3 cubic feet
    • (with 3rd-row seat fully upright) — 36.0 cubic feet
  • Cargo volume behind 2nd row – 73.3 cubic feet
    • (with 2nd-row seat slid forward) – 79.6 cubic feet
  • Cargo volume behind 1st row – 121.5 cubic feet
