In fact, they’ve created a new quiet exhaust feature for the 2018 Ford Mustang GT, which is as impressive as it is quiet.

What is the New 2018 Ford Mustang GT Quiet Exhaust Feature?
Playfully known as “Good Neighbor Mode,” you can now program your properly equipped 2018 Ford Mustang GT to keep engine noise low when the situation calls for it. You can even program quiet start-up times for your new Ford Mustang GT in advance so you’ll never have to worry about angering your neighbors or family with a loud engine ever again. All of this is possible because of the new Quiet Exhaust feature and the industry-first Quiet Start feature, both of which are part of the available active valve performance exhaust system for the 2018 Ford Mustang lineup.
“Active valve performance exhaust gives Mustang owners the best of both worlds – that classic Mustang sound, and the ability to not wake up your neighbors when you leave the house early in the morning or arrive home late at night. When sounds get up into the upper-70-decibel range, that’s typically about when they start to bother people. With quiet start activated, the decibel level of the new Mustang GT drops by about 10 decibels, to a much more comfortable 72 decibels – about the level of a household dishwasher.” – Matt Flis, Ford Exhaust Development Engineer.

Is the silent mode a standard feature in the 1918 and onward models.
I live in a very quite neighborhood and would not like to jeopardize good relations when I start up early morning although I love the sound of the V8 Mustang motor as it is.
The knocking of of the 10 decibels sound is this done with a conversion or just a switch in the vehicle.
