2017 Ford GT Award Wins

Ford GT Named Winner of Gold Clio Vehicle Award

2017 Ford GT Award Wins

The new Ford GT has been racking up wins on the race track, and now that car has taken home some hardware of a different kind. The list of 2017 Ford GT award wins has just gotten longer. The GT has been named the winner of the inaugural Gold Clio Product Design Award in the vehicle category.

The judges for the Clio Awards are all top creative professionals from around the world in the design, marketing and advertising fields. Voting is done in rounds that narrow the winners down to less than 20 percent of the entries. The remaining competitors are then assigned Bronze, Silver or Gold status. For the first time, a Golden Clio was awarded in the vehicle category, and the all-new Ford GT was named the winner.

Functional and Aesthetic Design

Looks are not everything with the new Ford GT. The design of the new supercar is sporty and sharp, but it is also serves a functional purpose. Ford has designed the GT to be as aerodynamic as possible. The design has worked well on the race track, helping the GT race car win 24 Hours of Le Mans and several other significant races.

But it takes more than just an aerodynamic body design to make a supercar. Ford has equipped the GT with a 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost engine. This turbocharged power source gives the GT access to 600 horsepower and pushes the supercar’s performance to the limit.
