Fusion Hybrid Models

All three trims of the 2020 Ford Fusion Hybrid return an EPA-estimated rating of 43 city / 41 highway / 42 combined mpg. The lineup draws life from a 2.0L I-4 Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine and 88kW electric motor, summoning 188 combined horsepower. That engine links to an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission, resulting in a smooth and efficient drive.

Fusion Plug-In Hybrid Models

The 2020 Ford Fusion Plug-In Hybrid returns a staggering EPA-estimated rating of 109 city / 97 highway. Like the standard Hybrid model, the Plug-In employs a 2.0L I-4 Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine and 88kW electric motor. With a full charge, the Fusion Plug-In Hybrid has an EPA-estimated electric-only driving range of 26 miles. Combine that full charge with a full tank of gas and that range lifts to 610 miles.

Other Fuel Saving Technology

With hybrid and plug-in hybrid options, the 2020 Fusion helps makes efficient driving easier with innovative technology designed to cut energy waste.

In the instrument panel, the dual-LCD SmartGauge® with EcoGuide acts as a coach for efficient driving with real-time driving feedback. The displays also allow you to track the powertrain’s operation – hybrid drive, electric drive, gas engine, plus instant and average fuel economy.

2020 Fusion Hybrid models reduce energy waste in city driving from stop-and-go conditions with regenerative braking. The regenerative braking system recovers up to 90% of kinetic energy released through braking friction. The energy is then sent back to the battery for later use.
