Mustang Mach-E Public and At-Home Charging Times
Arguably the most daunting barrier to EV ownership is the threat of slow charging times, but the new Mustang Mach-E represents a major leap in the field of fast-changing technology. Here we answer frequently asked questions of how long it takes for the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E to reach a full charge with the various different types of charging stations available for Ford owners.
How fast can the Mustang Mach-E reach a full charge?
The new Mustang Mach-E is surprisingly road trip friendly for an EV, especially when you take advantage of the over 13,500 public charge stations in the FordPass™ charging network. When using one of the FordPass™ network’s 150 kW charging stations, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E can add up to 61 miles of driving range in 10 minutes, charging from 10%-80% in just 45 minutes.
For owners who plan to charge their vehicle overnight, the available Ford Connected Charge Station is the fastest choice. It would take just about 10.9 hours to charge a Mustang Mach-E from 0% to 100% using a Ford Connected Charge Station. That averages out to about 28 miles of driving range per charging hour. The one caveat is that this option comes with a price tag of $799 MSRP.
Can you charge the Mach-E using a standard outlet?
If you don’t have access to a Ford Connected Charge Station, every 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E comes standard with a Ford Mobile Charger with connectors designed for 120V and 240V outlets. Otherwise, a 240V electric outlet should be able to bring the Mach-E to a full charge in 15 hours. We recommend this option if you’re not interested in a relatively low-cost charging solution. It can take up to 95 hours to charge a Mustang Mach-E using a standard 120V wall outlet.
|Charger Types||Charge Time (0% to 100%)||Range/Hour|
|Ford Connected Charge Station||10.9 hours||28 miles|
|Ford Mobile Charger with 240V outlet||15 hours||20 miles|
|Ford Mobile Charger with 120V outlet||95 hours||20 miles|
