How to Get the Pro Power Onboard™ Generator on the All-New F-150

Which Ford F-150 Has the Onboard Generator?

The new Pro Power Onboard™ mobile generator on the all-new 2021 Ford F-150 offers the best usable power on demand in the class. Whether you’re looking to power a whole fleet of hammer drills and jigsaws or just need to keep the hotdog water warm through tailgating season, available 2.0kW, 2.4kW, and 7.2kW systems let you choose exactly the amount of power you need. In this guide, we review which Ford F-150 trucks have the new onboard generator so you know exactly what to look for when you visit us here at Akins Ford this summer.

The 2.0kW Pro Power Onboard™ system is available on SuperCab/SuperCrew trucks with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost®, 5.0-liter TI-VCT V8, or 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 engines – but the more intensive 7.2kW and 2.4kW systems are offered only on trucks with the available PowerBoost® Full Hybrid engine.

Which F-150 Generator Output Should You Choose?

The base 2.0kW Pro Power Onboard™ that’s available on gas-powered F-150 trucks offers more than enough power to get you through casual jobs and tailgating season. However, we recommend upgrading to the 7.2kW or 2.4kW systems that are available with the PowerBoost® Full Hybrid engine for more rigorous construction jobs and commercial applications. This PDF guide from Ford Motor Company outlines the types of tasks the Pro Power Onboard™ can handle from each output level.
